Welcome to the Senior Department where pupils acquire the transferable skills which will be so essential in this rapidly changing 21st century world. Our mantra of Learning for Life encourages all pupils to develop perseverance, questioning and communication skills, creativity, leadership and risk-taking strategies, co-operation and appreciation of our world. These qualities equip our students not just to achieve excellent public examination results and entry to the top universities but also to produce high quality art, drama, music and photography and to harness their talents to participate in sport at the highest levels.
The family ethos of the school ensures that pupils are treated as individuals in a supportive environment and personal achievements are widely celebrated. Although our teaching programmes are broadly based on the National Curriculum and lead to a wide range of GCSE and A Level courses, we have the flexibility to embrace new ideas and to undertake a wide range of educational visits and extra-curricular activities. Students leave the Senior Department as confident, articulate, friendly and responsible young adults ready to contribute to society and to face new challenges positively and with good humour.
