Mrs Sue Duckett

Sue was brought up in the South East. She attended Warlingham County School in Surrey. Sue was a keen gymnast at school and represented her county as a member of the Surrey County Gymnastics Team.

From school Sue gained a place at Saint Martin’s School of Art where she studied for a Diploma in Interior Display. Sue continued her studies here in East Anglia gaining qualifications in the care and education of the under 5’s followed by a Certificate of Education.  

As well as running her own business, Sue has taught in schools in the Eastern Region and has been a lecturer in Early Years Education.

Sue joined Saint Felix School in September 2001 as Head of the Pre-prep. In the time that she has been here, she has taught both Reception and Lower II in Bronte House. 

Sue has a diverse range of interests from interior design to the theatre. She has also held a glider pilot’s licence though sadly this has now lapsed. Sue has three children, the youngest of whom attended Saint Felix Prep and Senior Departments. Sue is married to Peter who is also a teacher. 


Mr Tim O'Connell

Tim was brought up in Cambridgeshire.  He attended St Ivo School where he was 1st XV Rugby and 1st XI Cricket Captain. He was also Victor Ludorum in his UVI year and the Sixth Form Social Secretary. From school Tim gained a place at Exeter University to study Exercise and Sports Science attaining a BA with Honours. This degree was followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) also at Exeter.

Having successfully completed his PGCE, Tim joined Saint Felix School in 2007 as a Teacher of Boys’ Games and Geography. He was appointed as Housemaster of Fawcett House which houses boy boarders aged 11 – 16 in 2008.

In April of 2012, Tim was appointed as Head of Boarding for Saint Felix School. As such he is in overall charge of all the boarders at the school numbering some 85 students and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. He continues to teach Games and Geography extending his remit into Key Stage 2.

In September 2015, Tim was appointed Head of the Preparatory Department.  He combines this with his Head of Boarding position and continues to teach Geography, Games and now ICT to the Preparatory Department. 

Tim is married to Laura who works in the swimming department at the school. They have a son, Sebastian, and two daughters Eleanor and Harriet.  Sebastian is in the Prep-Prep and Eleanor attends the Nursery.

Tim’s interests reflect his teaching. He is passionate about sport; supporting, watching and playing rugby, hockey and cricket when he can.
