Saint Felix Cricket Trip - April 2010 |
|
A lucky group of pupils from Saint Felix School recently enjoyed a trip to Essex County Cricket Club. The group of 38 budding cricketers, from years four to nine, visited the club for a ‘coach and view’ day. All pupils received two hours coaching in the indoor school from the Essex coaches and then watched the third days play between Essex and Lancashire. Lancashire won the game by eight wickets and the Saint Felix pupils had the chance to watch England stars James Anderson, Alistair Cook, James Foster and Sajid Mahmood in action.
Master in charge of Cricket, Tim O’Connell, said: "A great day was had by all. The quality of cricket was top notch and it was great to see a result. Everyone had a fantastic time.”
The outing enabled Saint Felix cricket teams to witness the pro’s in action, before the pupils themselves embark on a season heavily loaded with fixtures - the teams play a combined total of over 30 matches and hope to improve on last year's successes.
