Bronte House

The Nursery (Dragons) and Key Stage 1 departments are based in Bronte House. Dragons’ Nursery takes children from one year old through to Reception. Baby Dragons’ are agerange 1-2 yrs, Little Dragons 2-3 yrs and Big Dragons 3-5 yrs. Children enter the Key Stage 1 class (Years 1 and 2) in the September of the academic year in which they turn five.

Dragons’ Nursery offers the ideal launch pad for our youngsters. Children can attend flexible sessions in the happy, safe and inspiring environment which our highly qualified staff provide. Small class sizes ensure that every child’s individual needs are met, both educationally and emotionally. In our latest Independent Schools’ Inspectorate (ISI) report it was recognised that ‘care is underpinned by close attention to the needs of each child’ and that Bronte ‘is highly effective in working with parents in a genuine partnership so that the learning and development are celebrated and supported.’ It concluded that ‘staff carefully observe and record children’s learning and plan the next steps for each child.’

Bronte has large, sunny rooms, separate washing and toilet facilities and a large hall used for play, dance and music sessions. Bronte also has a cleverly designed outside play area to promote imaginative and physical play.
