One of the principal aims of the Science department is to foster an enthusiasm for science in the pupils when they enter the Senior School. This is achieved by making the science interesting and relevant. A wide variety of teaching styles is used and practical work is a key element in most of the lessons.

The National Curriculum is delivered at this level using the Exploring Science course which gives a solid foundation of knowledge in all three science areas as well as emphasizing investigative and experimental skills.
