Cookery

 

Cookery is on the curriculum for LIV, UIV and LV (Years 7,8 and 9) at Saint Felix. It is also offered as an optional extra to the 6th Form as preparation for life at university.

The subject is taught in small groups not exceeding 14 pupils which allows every child to take part in the cooking experience. The pupils cook a wide variety of dishes, both savoury and sweet, from all over the world. The emphasis is on taste, technique and confidence. It is our aim to provide every pupil with the ability to tackle all types of recipes not only with competence but with pleasure.

We use a large, airy and fully equipped cookery room. We are lucky enough to have a beautiful green Aga for the pupils to use, as well as seven new cookers and all the pots, pans, utensils and electrical equipment required to produce meals of every kind.
