KS4 Curriculum

GCSE Drama students follow the Edexcel course which focuses on the practical side of drama. Pupils will complete two practical units will look at the process of drama; with pupils being assessed on their ideas, their shaping and development of a piece of drama and their ability to evaluate their success. These units are assessed by the teacher and include a set of exploration notes and an evaluation of a live performance. The external examination is also practical and pupils will perform in a group to a visiting examiner. Pupils opt to do a design element as an alternative to acting.

Over the two year course pupils will be given the opportunity to visit the theatre and take part in a variety of performances, including the Senior School production.
