GCSE Curriculum
We study the OCR course in both Language and Literature. Students will produce written coursework based on Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet', Arthur Conan Doyle's novel 'The Hound of the Baskervilles', a selection of Wordsworth's and Blake's poetry and complete an imaginative response.

Three Speaking and Listening tasks are assessed, based on role-play, group discussion and a solo speech.

The set texts are an OCR selection of twelve short stories based on different cultures, an OCR poetry selection and Arthur Miller's play 'Death of a Salesman'.

Students will also study non-fiction and media texts and learn how to use narrative devices to achieve effects in discursive, informative and persuasive writing.
