Geography

Middle V and Upper V

Pupils follow Edexcel A, studying four core and two optional modules. Fieldwork is an important part of the course, and recent studies have looked at changing river channel characteristics and the hierarchical spheres of influence of local settlements.

Rivers, ice and coasts reinforce physical principles and processes. Population Geography analyses recent trends across the globe, and Economic Geography focusses on the changing world of work and its implications for the world.  In Upper V students examine climate and vegetation, floods and their management, and look at how tourism has grown and influenced many societies. The experience and opinion of candidates is developed and encouraged at all times.
