History is a popular option and we follow the OCR specification for Modern World History since 1919. For the coursework section pupils study the USA in the 1920s and the 1930s (Prohibition, Gangsterism, the Jazz Age and the Great Depression) and Russia in the age of Lenin and Stalin. The written papers cover the changes in Britain in the early 20th century and the effects of the peace settlements after the First World War leading to the rise of Hitler and the Nazi era.
