NEWS FROM OUR MEETINGS
 
The School's Parent Teacher Association meets every four to six weeks to discuss issues concerning all aspects of school life. Many subjects come under, sometimes heated, discussion ! Many of the topics discussed are those raised with our 26 committee members by other parents. Highlighting and finding solutions to these problems leads to improvements for all concerned. Please find below a few snippets of news from recent meetings :
 
All children going to sports fixtures may soon be provided with a bottled drink by the school. At June's PTA meeting Karen Wallis said she was concerned that many children going to matches did not have drink bottles with them. However, the problem is that the school does not have enough to provide to the very many children going out to matches on the same days. The PTA is now urging the PE Dept to apply to it for funding to solve this problem. Shortly every sports teacher should have enough carriers with bottles for everyone at every fixture.
 
Cycling Proficiency Training is to go ahead in the Junior School  Gavin Kenward has been pressing for some time for this to be reintroduced into the junior school. Mrs Campbell has now arranged for it to begin again soon.
 
New Bronte House PTA Member  Bronte House has a new parent committee member. Marilyn McDonald attended her first meeting in June and will represent this section of the school alongside Karen Waspe. Marilyn can be contacted via the contacts page of this web area. The Friends are also hoping to bring on board a staff member from Bronte to represent the lower end of the school alongside Mrs Campbell.
