Such is the popularity of all things musical at Saint Felix that the schoolâs choir has had to be split into two groups to accommodate all its members.
Formerly known as the Saint Felix Chapel Choir, pupils in years 10-13 are now the Saint Felix Senior Singers. Younger students in years 7-9 have been renamed the Saint Felix Young Voices.
Sunday 13th September saw the school hold its Singing Day, which allowed Saint Felix choir members to practise in their new groups, and prepare for their upcoming choral matins performance at Honningham Church on October 4th, and the Ipswich Festival on October 13th.

The Singing Day also raised money for the choirsâ 2010 tour of South Africa. Head of Music at Saint Felix, Mr Andrew Jenkins, said the day had been a success all round. âThe day was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended, and it allowed the two new groups to practise both individually and together,â he said.
âThe Young Voices performed songs such as âMy Heart Will Go Onâ from Titanic, and a fun arrangement of âThis Old Manâ. The Senior Singers discovered music from the renaissance period, and sang a modern piece by John Rutter in preparation for their trip to Honningham Church in October.
âThe enthusiasm our choir shows is superb, and now the two groups have been formed the members have a real sense of identity. Weâre now concentrating on raising money for our tour to South Africa and our short UK tour.â
Any pupils or staff interested in joining the Saint Felix School choir can contact Mr Jenkins for more information.
