Ex-Olympic and Common Wealth high jumper Geoff Parsons visited Saint Felix, as it held its annual science day.

The Scottish Sportsman, who won three Great Britain titles in the men's high jump event, achieved his personal best of 2.31 metres at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria.

He gave a talk to Saint Felix students and staff on the topic of sport and science. Issues discussed included how the slightest advance in science can help sport leap leagues ahead, how improvements in science result in a whole range of world records getting broken, and also how science can affect people, equipment and results.
