Saint Felix hockey teams came up against some very strong opposition on Wednesday 24th February.  In their first match of the season the under 12's fought hard, putting together some slick passing play and were rewarded with a 4-1 victory. Player of the match Sian Hutchinson provided a solid base in midfield allowing Clea Turvill and Beth Bandy to launch some potent attacking moves. Debutant goalkeeper Emily Whyte defended her goal well ably supported by the strong defensive trio of Rachel Dennison, Helena Keeble and Ottilie Mitchell. Goals came from Clea Turvill, Beth Bandy and Helena Keeble.

On the other pitch, Saint Felix under 13 showed naivety when allowing an exceptionally strong Ipswich player to dominate the game. Having started slowly they found themselves 9-0 down at half time. Half time tactical changes ensured the threat was nullified by Angela Perez de Herrasti doing an excellent 'man-marking' job. Player of the match was awarded to Olivia Harrod for her tireless work in defense and attack.

"It was pleasing to see the u12s avenge last season's defeat. We still have lots of work to do but we have made great progress since last season", said coach Tim O'Connell.
