Mathematically-minded students from Saint Felix have taken part in the 2010 World Maths Day.
The 32 number-crunchers, ranging from Form 1 to the Lower VI, competed live on-line with other students from across the world. The aim of the yearly event is to answer as many arithmetic questions as possible in a minute – each student was allowed to complete 600 minutes worth of questions.

Such was the dedication to the maths competition, that a number of Saint Felix students stayed overnight at the school to ensure they had the best chance of answering as many questions as possible.
Mrs Wendy Dersley, a member of the Maths Department at Saint Felix, organised the event. She said: “It was absolutely fantastic to see so many children, across such an age range, so engaged in Maths. It’s easy for some and not so for others, but it doesn’t matter what their ability, this scheme just grabbed their attention.
“Everyone was fantastic – well done to everybody who took part.”
This year’s World Maths Day made it into the Guinness Book of World Records, with over 572 million arithmetic questions answered worldwide.
