On the last day of April, staff turned out in force to play the seniors in a friendly, yet competitive, game of rounders.
The rest of the school looked on as they enjoyed cakes and treats from the Sixth Formers’ cake sale – this was organised to raise money for the charity, Lepra.
Playing assertively the staff fielded first, keeping the score low and playing a sensible game. Mr Collis dominated the deep field, and Mr Dodsworth bowled effectively. At first post Mr O'Connell managed to stump a number of the senior team out, maximising on missed hits.

For the senior team, Chanielle Abdullie-Stewart played sensibly at second and Gilbert Dixon demonstrated a number of diving catches, sadly missing them all. Desperate to scrape a win the team batted effectively with Miss Fenwick clocking up a top score of two rounders, and with just half a rounder in it the staff managed to pull off a victory with their heads held high.
Director of Sport at Saint Felix, Georgina Kingstone said: “The game was great fun – although, it did get rather competitive and the staff were delighted when they were declared the winners at the end.”
